Sutton Public School Students Take Flight

Tomorrow, Thursday 8th June, students from Years 5 and 6 will take part in the interactive Capstone Project, an aviation outreach program developed by the University of NSW Canberra. The program aims to introduce the science, technology, engineering and mathematical aspects of aerospace and aviation to primary school children. This is a unique opportunity for students with an interest in STEM subjects to have a very hands on and interactive introduction and experience of how different aircraft achieve flight.  Weather permitting the morning will include a visit by the Royal Australian Navy 723 SQN helicopter due to land on the Baylis Oval at 9:40am.  All students K-6 will be supervised by staff and visiting officials to view the landing from a nominated safety zone.  We are privileged to have the opportunity to be part of this innovative program. Stay tuned for updates throughout the day tomorrow.
